January 6, 2022, marks a full year since a violent mob was incited to attack our Nation’s Capitol in Washington, D. C., in an attempt to overturn the results of a democratic election. As ongoing House investigative committee hearings reveal more about those responsible for the insurrection, grassroots groups across the nation are planning vigils to mark the date as a Day of Remembrance. Community and faith leaders from around Great Falls will offer prayers. Participants are asked to bring battery-operated candles to hold during the vigil, and dress warmly. The event is free and open to all, and should last no more than an hour.
